FLORENCE ORIENTATION TOUR

Thursday 10 MARCH 3 hours ca. (H 9:00 a.m.)
Half-day tour on foot

Meet our guide in Santa Maria Novella square, where you can glance at the wonderful Romanesque church, with its green and white marble façade. The upper part of the church, completed in 1470, is by Leon Battista Alberti. We will go on a stroll through the exceptionally gorgeous streets and piazzas around the historical center, to discover the treasures of Florence. The highlights of the tour will include Ponte Vecchio (the Old Bridge) with its gold shops, Piazza della Signoria (Signoria square), the church of Orsanmichele and Piazza Duomo, .where you can also admire the Campanile di Giotto (bell tower), the Baptistery, and the beautiful cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with its famous dome by Brunelleschi, a classic example of the Italian Renaissance architecture. End of the tour.

SIENA AND SAN GIMIGNANO

Friday 11 MARCH (H 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
Full-day excursion by coach and on foot

Departure from Florence by private coach. Driving through the Tuscan countryside, we will reach Siena, one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe with its Duomo, a splendid Gothic-Romanesque Cathedral. Next the famous Piazza del Campo (Campo square). Here, in this enormous shell-shaped square, the Palio horserace is held twice a year. The visit includes entrance at the Palazzo Pubblico which houses many masterpieces such as the famous "Maestà" by Simone Martini. Light lunch in Siena city center.
In the afternoon we will move on to the "city of towers", San Gimignano. With its century towers, over 2 kilometres of city walls, and historical centre of battles, San Gimignano still displays charming old buildings, houses and monuments outdoor. Return to Florence, where this tour ends.

Meeting point: Piazza Adua, which is the square in front of the Congress Centre.

FLORENCE AND THE UFFIZI GALLERY

Saturday 12 MARCH 3 hours ca. (H 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
Half-day tour on foot
Meet our guide in Santa Croce square, we could then head to Vivoli for a quick stop for the best ice cream in town. We will proceed through the Medieval part of Florence to end up in Piazza della Signoria, one of the loveliest squares in Italy. Here our guide will introduce you to the imposing complex of Palazzo Vecchio, once the residence of the Medici family, Lords and rulers of Florence, today the palace is still the administrative heart of the city and seat of the municipal government. Also on the square Loggia dei Lanzi, enlivened by a row of important statues (Perseus by Giambologna, Hercules and the Centaur, etc…). finally the highlight of this tour, with reserved entrance and guided visit of the Uffizi Gallery, one of the world's best. End of the tour.

Meeting point: Piazza Santa Croce, in front of the church

THE FACTORY OUTLETS

Saturday 12 March a.m. or p.m. (schedule to be defined)
Alternative excursion

Meet our accompanying person and departure by private coach from Florence. The factory outlets of the most famous fashion designers.

Meeting point: Piazza Adua, which is the square in front of the Congress Centre.
