|
Substances which cannot be converted

Portion of oil, fat, wax, or
grease, which is not converted into soap on boiling with alkali
solution and is soluble in a solvent such as diethyl ether.

|
Solution of water and salt (brine)

|
Fatty acid which has one or more
double bonds in the carbon chain. Organic compound with the
chemical formula Cn H2n-1 COOH, Cn
H2n-3 COOH, etc.

Urine damage
|
Urine
can damage the grain giving it an unevenly roughened, velvet-like
texture instead of the normal smooth grain. This is particularly
prominent in calf skins.
