DETEK


DETEK is an association established since 1995 and gathers experts of leather chemists, engineers and technicians by certain level of educational degree and professionals being occupied in leather sector for more than 10 years from different disciplines and people academically occupied in the leather educational centers.

DETEK has become of a member of IULTCS since 2003. Center of the association is in Tuzla, Istanbul.DETEK has an access to all members and leather group of people in variety of regions in Turkey by regular seminars, conferences and organisations concerning specific needs of the leather industry and via web-site within its individual guidelines. Topics such technical and environmental aspects of leather chemicals and applications, cost and quality system concerning issues, new global developments and events as well as network communications through IULTCS global activities could be named as examples for such organisations.

Commissions of DETEK have driven consistent immediately after IULTCS membership as IUE, IUF, IUC, and IUP commissions and thereafter new coming commissions IUT and IUR.
The establishmant of DETEK is objected to maintain continuous technical improvement and cooperation for the leather industry in many aspects. Most of the tasks are targeted in this respect including scientific fields and aiming to gather diversified disciplines in the leather sector. Since 2007 DETEK has been dedicating Prize for the 2 best research topics one of whom is assigned to attend in International IULTCS Congress.
Board comprises 9 members of directors as following: 1 Chairman, 2 Vice President, 1 Treasurer, 1 Executive Secretariat, 4 Directors. 3 of the members are renewed every 2 years who are elected among members.
DETEK takes active presence in local institutions and some sectoral associations.

DETEK also works as advisor council for many topics consistent with its guidelines concerning tannery base production, chemicals, regulations and standardisation necessities, environmental issues etc.
