Associazione Italiana dei Chimici del Cuoio (AICC)
The AICC
is an association that groups together all the categories that operate in
the leather sector, including leather chemists and technologists, both certified
and university graduates, professionals in the sectors of tanning, tanning
materials, pigments, greases, machinery or scientific equipment, and all
directly or indirectly associated industries.
To promote and disseminate scientific research by informing members of jobs,
inventions, discoveries, and experiences made in Italy and abroad.
To establish and maintain continuous cultural relationships between leather
chemists and technologists and other similar Italian or foreign associations.
The AICC has some 500 members and is administrated by a board of directors that is appointed by the general assembly every two years. Comprising 21 members, the Board of Directors is made of the following officers: 1 Chairman, 2 Vice Presidents, 1 Treasurer, 14 Directors and 3 Statutory Auditors, who can be elected from among all the members. Members of the Board of Directors also make up committees that deal with themes such as school, conferences and researches. The AICC is an effective member of IULTCS (International Union of Leather Technologist and Chemists Societies), where it participates with its delegate in the Board of Directors representing the Mediterranean area countries.
